    Lawmakers are exploring a licensing system that would allow domestic operators to offer online casino games under strict regulations. The government believes that legalizing online gambling could help redirect players away from illegal sites while generating additional tax revenue.

    

    Opponents, however, argue that expanding access to gambling could exacerbate addiction problems. The government has pledged to include robust safeguards, such as mandatory cooling-off periods and self-exclusion tools, in any new legislation.
